5K – RUN OR WALK

Date: Saturday, June 10, 2017
Start Time for 5k Run: 8:50 am
Start Time for 5k Walk: 9:00 am

The Band on the Run 5K route is suitable for all levels of runners. This route has some hills – specifically an uphill climb near the end on Forbes Hill Drive. It is Muskoka. There aren’t too many flat bits. We don’t think flat is fun. Seriously – imagine NEVER getting to run downhill.

But don’t be nervous about the hills. Many Band on the Run 5K participants are trying a running race for the FIRST TIME EVER.

Our 5K distance is also very popular for Running Groups and Teams. Find out more about registering as a TEAM.

Estimated Number of 5K Runners: 1000
Estimated Number of 5K Walkers: 200

GENERAL INFO

AGE: Participants in the 5k must be 12 years or older on June 10th, 2017 OR accompanied on the run with an adult who will run at the same pace.

START LINE: The Start Line is self-seeded. If you are fast then make sure you are near the front. Fast is under 30 minutes. If you are planning to take your time, then start near the back. Participants that are in the 5K WALK category start in their own wave after the runners have gone out.

STROLLERS: You are welcome to push your baby in a stroller. We ask that you start near the back for safety concerns.

DOGS: You are welcome to run with your dog as long as he/she is on a leash and under control. We ask that you start near the back for safety concerns. Dogs are welcome on the run in the morning but unfortunately are not permitted in the park for the afternoon Music Festival.
